IGNOU Ranchi Regional Centre Admission 2026: Ranchi RC is the 22nd office of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established in 2000. The main objective of this regional centre is to provide better quality open education and support to the learners of the newly established State of Jharkhand.
In 2000, RC Ranchi started their journey with only 11 study centers with around 8000 students. This regional centre has shown rapid growth in the last 19 years, currently, RC Ranchi has 50 study centers with 47,000 students (According to the report 2018) enrolled in the university.
The Ranchi regional centre has offices in Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Deoghar, and in Ranchi. With the increasing demands of the students, Deoghar centre was established in 2011 along with 7 districts under the authority of the Ranchi department, which is the administrator of the remaining 17 districts of the state.

- Candidates need to visit the official website of the Ranchi Regional Centre for the admission process: http://rcranchi.ignou.ac.in.
- Once reached on the homepage of the portal, a candidate will see the About Us section.
- Now a candidate will see a link in this section. Click on the link, it will redirect candidates to the official portal of the IGNOU Samarth: @ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- After reaching the IGNOU Samarth portal, candidates have to select the option of “Click here for New Registration” given on the right side of the page.
- Enter all the details that are required, such as Name, Email ID, Contact Number & more.
- The university will send a login ID to the candidate’s registered email ID. Candidates need to log in with their registered username and password.
- Upload all the required documents such as Passport size Photographs, Signatures, Qualification Certificates & more.
- Now choose the course of your interest and pay the registration fee of INR 300 along with the course fee via Debit/Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI.
