IGNOU Online BLIS Course Details
The duration of Online Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences is 1 year offered by the School Of Sciences in English language. Online Bachelor of Library and Information provides theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience to the candidates. This course has 9 subjects out of which 5 are practical based subjects and the rest 4 are based on theoretical knowledge.
An applicant gets in-depth knowledge about topics such as Library and Society, Library Management, Library Classification Theory, Library Classification Practice, Library, Information, and Society, Communication Skills. IGNOU conducts the Online classes for the Online Bachelor of Library and Information (BLISOL) on every weekend which helps an applicant to enhance their skills by working in the field.

IGNOU Online BLIS Course Eligibility
Students must meet the eligibility criteria for IGNOU Admission to the Online Bachelor of Library and Information course (BLISOL). The eligibility criteria are mentioned below.
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a diploma in Library Science.
- A candidate must have 50 % of marks in their graduation and for the reserved category (SC, ST, OBC) there is a relaxation of 5% i.e. candidates belonging to the reserved category must have 45% of marks in their bachelor’s.
- Candidates having bachelor’s degree and 2 years work experience in the field of library or information centre can also enroll for this program.

- So the first step includes that the candidates have to visit the official portal of IGNOU i.e. https://ignouiop.samarth.edu.in for registration.
- Now, a candidate will see a column of “New Registration” on the left side of the page.
- Register yourself by clicking on that particular option and filling up all the necessary details required for the registration.
- After that, you need to go back to the homepage again to complete the login process.
- Log in by clicking on “Registered User Login” on the right side of the page and enter the Username, Password, and Captcha.
- Now upload all the documents required in sequence and complete the login process.
- A candidate must remember to preview the application form before submitting it.
- After the reassurance, pay the fees for admission via credit card, debit card, and Internet banking and submit your application form.
- Now a candidate will receive a mail on their registered mail ID confirming the successful submission of the application form.
- The application form will be reviewed by the official authority of IGNOU and if a candidate gets selected he/she will receive an email on his/her registered mail ID to join as a student for the program.
